Political linguistics

Political Linguistics is a highly specialized scientific journal addressed to a wide scope of readers and authors belonging to different cultures and representing scientific schools and trends in Russia and abroad.

The journal Political Linguistics addresses philologists, politologists, sociologists, journalists and politicians. The editorial board invites all specialists in political linguistics and related fields to contribute.

We are against political censorship and respect the political views of the authors of our publications, but we are strongly in favor of the observation of principles of tolerance and political correctness including articles written in the framework of critical discourse analysis.

Section 1 “Theory of Political Linguistics” offers a forum for discussion to the leading specialists in political linguistics.

Section 2 “Political Communication” includes theretical articles in which considerable space is allotted to  practical analysis of linguistic facts.

Section 3 “Language – Politics – Culture” unites researches of publicistic, advertizing, colloquial and literary texts which are significant for political linguistics in a certain way.

Section 4 “Linguistic Expertise: Language and Law” contains articles on the problems related both to political and judicial linguistics.

Section 5 "Foreign experience" is published as modern research of foreign colleagues in the field of political linguistics well as newly translated into Russian articles which were written decades ago but are still important for the theory and history of the discipline.

Section 6 “Reviews and Events” presents modern scientific discourse: it includes reviews of the most recently published papers on vital problems in political linguistics and provides information about major scientific conferences.

Section 7 “Discussions” appears irregularly to offer a forum for debate to representatives of different or sometimes opposite views on the problems of political linguistics and cognitology. As a rule the section carries several materials setting out rival theories.
